Salvation

Salvation

Notes & Response

Jesus came to save us by dying for us on the cross and paying for our sins. It is a debt we could never pay. But because of Jesus’ perfect life, God accepted His death as payment for the sins of mankind.

For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.  God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. John 3:16-18

Jesus lived, Jesus died and Jesus rose again. If you believe you will be saved and you will have eternal life.

If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.  As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” Romans 10:9-13

Salvation occurs as we believe and confess in accordance with God’s will. By believing and confessing, we can freely receive salvation from God. There is nothing we can do to deserve it. We can only accept it or reject it.

(It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)   For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are untied with Christ Jesus.  So God can point to us in the all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus. God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.  Ephesians 2:5-9

Salvation is by grace, it’s because of what Jesus has done for us on the cross and we receive it by faith in Jesus. You can’t earn it, you can’t buy it, you can’t get it any other way then simply by receiving it. As we repent of our sins, and as we confess Jesus as our Lord and invite Him into our hearts, He comes in and forgives us of all our sins and gives us the gift of eternal life.

Today you can acknowledge that you desperately need Jesus and are ready to walk in obedience to Him for the rest of your life.

Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God… and must be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  Acts 2:38

Pray

Jesus, thank you that You died on the cross for my sin.
I believe that You lived, that You died, and that You rose from the dead,
so that I could rise into new life.
Today I believe in You and I receive You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
